About Tam

I have worked in various human service professions prior to obtaining my Master’s Degree. My experience includes case management, foster care, crisis counseling, and elder abuse investigation. I’ve also worked in a domestic violence shelter. All these service roles provided a great foundation for what I bring to my private practice.

I obtained my Master’s of Arts (MA) in Clinical Professional Psychology from Roosevelt University in 2007. After some time in the field, I recognized I wanted a greater understanding of health programming so I pursued my Master of Public Health (MPH) at East Carolina University in 2010. My concentration was Health Behavior.

What can you expect in session?

You are the expert of your experience. As your therapist, I work with you to identify your needs and strengths. I will always be assessing for clinical diagnoses and risk behaviors. All services are person-centered. No two experiences are the same. I use what you bring to session as well as my expertise and training to decide next steps in your treatment. Everyone who sees me for treatment receives education on what they are experiencing whether it is panic attacks or codependency. Knowledge is power!
